The daughter of two professional folkloric dancers of the renowned Sluk folk dance company, Silvia Vrskova began to show interest in dancing at age 10.  She attended Tanecne Konzervatorium in Bratislava, where she danced with Lucnica. Upon finishing her studies, she was invited to join the Het International Dance Company in Holland, where she performed folk dances from around the world for 2 years.

Silvia then moved to the United States, where she began to train at the Alvin Ailey School, exploring the ways in which contemporary dance could allow her to speak and articulate with her art in a way that encompassed both her traditional roots and her sensitivity as a human.

She quickly landed her first professional job in the US, playing Little Eva in the national tour of "The King and I."  She soon found professional homes at Ballet Hispanico, Elisa Monte Dance, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, but then relocated to Las Vegas, where she performed with Celine Dion in "A Brand New Day" for 5 years.

Following the closing of "A Brand New Day," Silvia created various new shows with Cirque du Soleil across the world, from Europe to Asia to Los Angeles and more.  With Cirque, she not only performed as a dancer but also as a a clown, bungee-trapeze artist, rope soloist, and full-time aerialist on a myriad of equipment. You may have seen her performing on the 87th Academy Awards, on which she was featured with the company of "Iris."

In 2015, Silvia returned to New York City to join the company of Barlett Sher's Tony Award-nominated revival of Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway, which featured new choreography by Hofesh Shechter.

Beginning in November of 2016, Silvia will star as a principal dancer in Cirque du Soleil's Big Top International Tour of Amaluna.
